More June Fun

We've started having the Denja kids over for sleepovers.  Some shots follow of the first with Mikey and Maria.  Then, on June 21, we all went to Kensington Metropark beach for a little water fun.  We hope to go back in the evening to attend a free outdoor Detroit Symphony concert.

Mikey loves to put lego buildings and creatures together.

Maria added some fluid from a glowstick to nail polish.  She found the idea on Pinterest.  We went into a darkened room and discovered that it worked!

More lego time

We took a nice walk on the Brighton town boardwalk.

We got a hot game of Monopoly going.  This game board and pieces is the original one that we had in my childhood.  Too bad some pieces are missing as it could be worth a bundle!  But, all the original properties, the box and game board are in tact.

More June Events

Here are a few pictures of three June events.

A nice ending to a sad day.  After the funeral of her sister's wedding we got to visit cousin Maria's bakery in Battle Creek.  Maria and Rose check out some of the goods.

May and June Pics...Catching Up

Well, another long time between posts for us but the Denja posts have kept you up to speed on some of our life.  For the past two weeks it's sort of been non-stop traveling for both Rose and Bob.  Bob split his first 9 days split between Sturgis and Brighton with Grandma Alice.  Rose finally was able to drive north with Maeve and the Mason girls June 5-6.  In the last two weeks we celebrated Maria's eighth grade graduation, the Houghten's visit to Michigan for Mike's mother's retirement, some visits with Roger and Pat, nephew Brandon's high school graduation and Mikey's 7th birthday.  It's been a whirlwind and now we hope to settle in for a few days before things pick up again.  Rose has just two months in Michigan this year since she did the nanny thing for Maeve's youngest and starts up again in mid-August.

Maria, on the right, looks forward to the graduation mass.

Proud Mom and Dad get ready to place a grace necklace around her neck.

Grandma Alice made it to the graduation festivities joined by Grandma Paula and Mom LeighAnne, among others.
The tasty cake at Maria's graduation.

Relaxing at the Birmingham Denjas after a delicious dinner.

Maria, Isabel and Paula prepare the spread.

Friend Roger back at their "second home" with daughter Kristy and Pat.  They were able to visit for a short time.

Roger's healing continues but he must wear the mask when out in public...no germs to mess things up!

Mikey and Kendall playing in the backyard with Mike.

We had one evening with Maeve's family before they headed to Grand Rapids for cousin's wedding and then camping at Pokagon Park in Indiana with Aaron's family.

Uncle Adam brought Daddy Aaron from the airport.

We spent a nice evening eating in downtown Plymouth then on to the park for some free music.
